M2 (NGC 7089)

M2 is a very rich and concentrated globular cluster readily enjoyed with binoculars, but which needs a medium-sized telescope to resolve its members.

The cluster contains at least a hundred thousand stars, and perhaps many more. It's about 50,000 light years away.

M2 is just to the west of alpha and north of beta (which is in the same field): binoculars.
