M41 (NGC 2287)

M41 is a naked-eye deep sky object that Aristotle even noticed in 325 BC, calling it "a cloudy spot". It's 4º S of Sirius: binoculars.

About a hundred or so stars make up the bright cluster which covers an area equal to that of the full Moon.
