Meaning Of (The Decision Of) Faith/Repentance
(Facilitated By Gods Perfect GRACE/MERCY)

For WHOSOEVER shall CALL UPON the name of the Lord SHALL BE saved. (Romans 10:13)

Ok then, so what IS the meaning of BELIEVE?! It is VERY important that you thoroughly understand this concept, because it is on this concept that you will be required to base your faith in God's promises as found in the Bible.

How then shall they CALL ON him in whom they have NOT BELIEVED?
(Romans 10:14)

This is the REAL ISSUE. Basically, this verse means that the issue IS NOT the ACT of praying! Many people who have a works-salvation mindset have asked God to forgive their sin. We are NOT dealing with the dependence on a prayer.

He that BELIEVETH on the Son HATH everlasting life. (John 3:36a)

The heart of the issue here is BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST. Now this is where people generally get confused. So, LISTEN UP!

The common way we use "believe" in today's english is, "I believe that..."
We understand something, and agree that it is so. However, the Bible word translated "believe" means MUCH MORE than understanding something, and agreeing that it is so. Because when it comes to JUST acknowledging God, many people say that they believe in God, or even Jesus Christ, but that is
NOT SALVATION!! Look at the following verse:

... the devils also believe, and tremble. (James 2:19)

And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God... FOR THEY KNEW THAT HE WAS CHRIST. (Luke 4:41)

So the Bible says that the devils believe in God also, and that 2,000 years ago Jesus came and rose from the dead. They KNEW this. But they're obviously NOT on their way to heaven! So this means that there HAS TO BE MORE than just understanding and agreeing.

What then, is this idea of "SAVING FAITH", or faith for salvation?

Well, there are three points that must be realized:

 1) Initially, UNDERSTANDING THAT you have sinned and deserve the
judgement of Hell, and ALSO understanding that Jesus Christ has paid your penalty through His death, burial, and resurrection.

 2) Then, the fact that you AGREE WITH this truth.

 3) And finally, DEPENDING ON Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

That if thou shalt CONFESS with thy MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine HEART that God hath raised Him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED. (Romans 10:9)

You see, the Bible word "believe" means "TO  DEPEND  ON".

It goes beyond the intellectual understanding, or beyond the emotional,
heart-felt, "Yah, I agree with that!"

To that choice, where YOU actually CHOOSE TO DEPEND ON CHRIST!

TRUST means dependence... TO...  DEPEND...  ON!

You've got to make a choice... TO...  DEPEND...  ON...  CHRIST!

Neither is there salvation in ANY other: for there is NONE OTHER name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

This means you! No other name? No, no other name.

When one places his dependence on Christ alone (FAITH), he is agreeing (REPENTING: changing his mind) that he HAS sinned against God, that he DESERVES judgement in Hell, and that Jesus Christ IS his ONLY HOPE of salvation. This dependence MUST be totally on Christ.

JESUS saith unto him, I AM THE WAY, the truth, and the life: NO MAN COMETH unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

For there is ONE God, and ONE mediator between God and men,
the man CHRIST JESUS. (1 Timothy 2:5)

The decision of faith/repentance is a decision whereby you ADMIT you have sinned and are presently headed to the judgement of Hell, but KNOWING that Jesus Christ PAID your penalty, you therefore PLACE your dependence TOTALLY on Him to save you from sin and Hell.

If you still say, "I believe in Jesus ( i.e. I am depending on Jesus ) AND how
I live, etc. "  then you are NOT depending totally on Jesus. Therefore, you
DO NOT have faith in Christ.  Please, DON'T be offended, DO understand.

It's so profoundly simple that it confounds the world's theologians, yet the young innocent mind can grasp it fully. We need child-like faith to understand it, void of any pride & arrogance.

A split trust is MIS-trust. Or a lack of trust, in Christ!

Therefore we conclude that a man IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
WITHOUT THE DEEDS OF THE LAW. (Romans 3:28)

If you say, " I'm not SURE if I have ENOUGH faith"  this,  again,  is an
indication that you are focusing on yourself ( your works ).

Knowing that a man is NOT JUSTIFIED by the WORKS of the law, but by
the FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have believed in Jesus Christ,

that WE MIGHT BE JUSTIFIED BY the FAITH
of Christ, and NOT BY the WORKS of the law:

for by the works of the law shall NO flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)

The KEY to faith is to FOCUS ON the object of faith... JESUS CHRIST, NOT
on oneself. If the object of faith is singular, then the dependence is not split.

Now, if you say, " Does that mean you can believe in Christ, and then sin all
that you want?!" your ATTITUDE indicates a LACK of REPENTANCE, and you do NOT have a proper understanding of your sin and God's eternal judgement.

Please, for your sake, go back, review, repent, and renew your mind.
