Works-Based Salvation

Most people,  in most,  if not every "religion",  believe that some "behavior",  or "work",  on their part is REQUIRED for them to obtain a favorable,  or right standing in the eyes of God. TRUE CHRISTIANITY DOES NOT!  Sure,  God does desire,  and demand obedience to His laws;  but this "work" IS NOT tied to the redemption,  or salvation,  of an individual's soul.  GET IT RIGHT!  Most "Christian" churches DON'T understand this correctly!  Yet, this is the foundational truth of Jesus Christ's atoning,  and sacrificial,  death on the cross!

"But my personal works MUST have SOME benefit in regard to my securing a position in heaven!"  Well... not according to God's word... NOT BY WORKS of righteousness which we have done, but according to HIS MERCY He saved us. (Titus 3:5a) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (Romans 3:20) For BY GRACE are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that NOT of yourselves: it is the GIFT OF GOD: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE on Him whom He hath sent. (John 6:28-29) But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH on Him that justifieth the ungodly, HIS FAITH IS COUNTED for righteousness. (Romans 4:5) Knowing that a man IS NOT JUSTIFIED by the WORKS of the law, but by the FAITH of Jesus Christ... that we might be JUSTIFIED by the FAITH of Christ, and NOT by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall NO flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16+) I guess God means for us to understand that OUR GOOD WORKS HAVE NO EFFECT ON OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, OR JUSTIFICATION IN HIS EYES! It seems that He's very firm on this issue! And please, do not trivialize this concept, for you MUST understand this, because it is crucial to your realizing His free gift of salvation.
