M104 (The Sombrero) is a splendid bright spiral galaxy seen edge-on, its wide dust lane visible in medium sized telescopes. The galaxy is 35 million light years away.

If you draw a line from Spica due west and from gamma due south, you'll find M104 at their intersection: binoculars.
