Telescopium is a small and faint constellation south of Corona Australis and Sagittarius. A good prerequisite study of Sagittarius would be recommended.
Alpha Telescopii is a 3.5 magnitude star, the brightest in a faint constellation. The constellation is just south of Corona Australis, while alpha Tel is easily found by dropping due south two binocular FOVs from epsilon Sagittarii, the brightest star of Sagittarius. In the same field is delta1 and delta2, an optical binary (5.0 and 5.1) fairly attractive in binoculars.
